Things I need to do by December 1.

Things I need to do by December 1.

1. Make a website for portfolio and resumé. Not a dumpy photo bucket or facebook type website...

2. Organize said website with 4, maybe 5 categories. I'm also told that I have to stop being so generous with my photos...

3. Start looking in to using a video camera as I would use a still camera. Because videography seems to be an up and coming secondary skill to still photographers. Sigh...

4. Research my possible place in the workforce. 10 places...

5. For some reason I simply jotted down, "old Job." o.O Oh, I remember now... It was short hand to remind me to check in with people from my old job. Because I never know where my next job might come from...

6. Stop dreaming of a home life that's not the same one I've had for going on 30 years now, and start finding a way to achieve it.

So the first issue of The Breeze fall 2009 was released. The photos are nice and vibrant. Though there is one thing that bothers me. In the printing presses there was an odd red highlight added. Sadly, this slightly undermines every color photograph and illustration in the paper. Even still, it looks good. Aside from a few annoying headlines such as, “Modified sugar, modified spice. Food on this campus is not so nice.” It makes for a good read. When the stories hit the new web site, I’ll post the address.

Here are some photos I shot for “Much Ado About Nothing.” Kind of… The images below are altered photographs not being submitted to S.I.T.V. They are getting the originals. But the originals don’t have the cool artistic vibe I’ve added to them.

Anyway, I’ve tried to get the directors to look beyond what there typical ideal of what “photography” is. But alas, I couldn’t talk them in to giving me 3 to 4 hours for me to pose the actors in good lighting. You see, to me a hand full of awesome photographs are much more meaningful then thousands of snapshots of people running around on stage. Oh well, perhaps next season… Enjoy!!!

YAY!!! I HAVE MY TRUCK BACK!!! Boo... $571 to fix it... It all started with a bad ball-joint. But sliding across the freeway at 75 MPH just didn't help. So Ball-joint, tire rod, ball-joint retainer, alignment, new tire and labor... $571...

It sucks that every time I come out slightly ahead something like this just sets me back. But I'm up and running once again. Just in time for school too. I couldn't pay for a full time class load, so I'm just taking the one unit news paper class. Even that ended up being $90.

My trucks been through a lot this last year. I feel like I need to do something for it. A kind of gift, you know... Perhaps a trip to the car wash... The good wash for once... Though that's going to have to be put off for a while longer.

So there it is. Though I looked high and low for help to fix my truck, there was no help to be had. It was foolish on my part to look for help. I wasted a lot of energy in doing so. No, this just goes to reaffirm that the only person I can truly depend on, is my self.

Cell phone charger, loose change, head set (but not the charger for the headset) and most puzzling, store cards. (Best buy, juice it up, borders, hair cut place, etc...) Radios still there. I just took off the face plate so from the out side, there is no real reason to brake in to my truck.

Even still, I need to get it fixed and off the street before some one helps them self's to things like hubcaps, tailgate or even the engine. I've asked around, looks like it's going to cost about $200 - $400 to fix this. Though that's an educated guess.
There's a problem with my unemployment and I'm not going to get a check for a few months. Which means I can't pay for my fall classes. I'm going to apply for Fasa, but I don't think I'll get approved because of my income for last year. Even if I do get the $300 needed for my classes, I'm still not okay. I don't believe I can afford to do a full class load and pay the bills using only my mom's money she gives me for her half of the bills. So I might have to just take one unit news paper class in the fall. As opposed to the ten units classes I was going to take.

Oh well, it is what is...

Meaning behind the image...

On my classes website we have to upload images and talk about the meaning behind the image. Here is one I did.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse is one of my favorite topics. There is also so much symbolism behind them.

Conquest:
Rider of the White Horse carries a bow and is given a Crown. Conquest goes forth conquering and brings judgment to false profits. Conquest can side in the realm of either evil or righteousness. In this image you’ll notice Conquest has NO “arrow head” at the point of his arrow. In some depictions of Conquest his bow has no string or arrow. This is said to represent a nonviolent rise to power.

Also, underneath Conquest you’ll notice Kings and profits cowering before him.

War:
Rider of the Red Horse. War carries a sword and is sent forth to take peace from the earth, and let men kill one another. In this image you’ll see two men fighting each other. In some depictions, War is accompanied with the element of fire. Fire is often used as a visual representation for cleansing

Famine:
Rider of the Black Horse. Famine carries balance is if to judge you for your sins. Famine brings forth famine and pestilence. In this image, below Famine you’ll see a man eating another man.

Death:
Rider of the Pale Horse. Death is followed by Hades. Death is sent to destroy over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Death is normally represented with a sickle. Underneath Death you’ll see… death…

Toad vs. Toadstool...

Below is a conversation I was having on my classes website. It just gose to prove how much of a dork I truly am…

Me:
My object is a four inch Toad with a witches hat that I got as a Halloween decoration four years ago. Though this toad is so well made that I keep it out all year long. Normally it sits on my TV in my bedroom. Toads are traditionally a negative symbol. They are commonly viewed as demonic creatures, often magical yet evil. Though when talked about in legends or stories, Toads figure as the guardian of treasures. Also, it's transformation from tadpole to maturity renders the toad a frequent symbol of resurrection and rebirth.

Jeremias:
Nice to see you picked your object=) personally I prefer princess Peach's Toad

Me:
Princess Peach (formally known as Princess Toadstool) preceded Princess Daisy from the original Donkey Kong game. Princess Peach was served by a number of mushrooms like beings known as Toadstool or Toad for short. Depending on the game there could be one Toad or hundreds of Toads.

The basic principle of “Toad” is that he is everyone NOT important to the story line. Toad is the citizen, the servant, the employee, and the messenger. He is the average Joe…

Of course there are exceptions to every rule. For example, in Super Mario Brothers 2 Toad was one playable character out of four. But even then, he was the weakest of the four.

And that’s all you’ve ever wanted to know about Toadstool from the Mario Games. LOLZ…

:P
